What brought me into the profession of health and healthcare ?

Strangely, it only bothered me after almost 2 decades of being dependent on steroids that I was stuck in a loop of taking them without any change in health. I was diagnosed with chronic asthma at the age of 8, the same year I was prescribed steroids by Mumbai city’s best chest specialist.

And one would believe medicine is meant to treat and help reduce the problem, but it only kept suppressing it in my case, or might one say increase them?

As a kid it didn’t bother me, it saved me from physical education classes in school after all! But as I entered my late teens, I did start feeling more and more handicapped, for I would start huffing and puffing after even walking distances as small as 50 meters!

The BMI calculator flashed in the red throughout my late teens. My short journey with PCOS, and the rather longer one with asthma and obesity ended overnight. Well, at least mentally and I worked my way around it physically by just finding logical solutions and being curious about ways to make life better for myself.

I studied various forms of healing, flipped my lifestyle, and healed myself to reverse my asthma DESPITE IT BEING HEREDITARY.

And also reversed my inflammatory PCOS, and excruciating period pain cramps, without any medication, despite being told by medical professionals that OCPs were the only way ahead.

In my own journey I realised that the cohesion of physical, mental, emotional and hormonal well-being is the only way to develop a long term sustainable healthy lifestyle and reverse conditions that have become so common.

I was still in college when I decided to make shifts in my career choices and continued studying finance while also pursuing nutrition and dietetics.

I also pursued a Yoga TTC and fitness for beginners’ course and got certified from the ministry of AYUSH, to be able to integrate mental, physical, emotional and hormonal wellbeing creating waves of impact via my practice, to become The Painless Period Coach™

My only goal is to remind people to take the power back in your own hands, instead of succumbing to thinking that lifestyle conditions are ‘normal’ or that they just ‘have to live with it’.

The human body has immaculate power which our biology textbooks don’t teach us. Don’t let anyone else tell you otherwise.

  • Managing Srushti's Lupus and RA

When I was 13-14 I was diagnosed with Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia. This changed to Evans Syndrome when I was 16 and was admitted to the hospital for a few days due to low platelets. Fast forward to when I'm 19, I get diagnosed with Lupus which apparently became the root cause for everything including the Evan's. I had had joint pains before in 10th and 12th but they went away on their own. When I was 19, they didn’t. So we checked and this happened. From what we know currently based on the ANA results, over all these years it's grown as I've grown older. From this you can tell that I have been on several medications throughout my life. I am 23 years old now. You will not be wrong if you said that I had given up on my condition and started hating my body for what was happening. And because I knew this is my life now, my relationship with food became ‘You can’t break something that’s already broken’. I didn’t enjoy eating home food because it made me feel like throwing up and preferred ordering or going out and eating. My profession also takes me to some very fancy places. But I used to see Jiah’s stories and decided to give her program a chance. I was very reluctant on to do a lot of things in the beginning, but gluten and sugar specifically were the hard ones to give up. 15 days of not consuming it, and I didn’t have cravings for it anymore, even when my most favourite dish (chilly cheese toast) was kept in front of me. I have started enjoying eating home food because I realised that the vomiting used to happen every time I ate wheat roti, and my body didn’t enjoy eating it. But this increased my love for home food because I started enjoying eating it and didn’t feel nauseous anymore. My joint pains have reduced and breathwork techniques taught have helped me sleep better as well. The encouragement to exercise keeping in mind my joint pains have also helped me become and feel stronger. Going to understand the root emotional cause has put so many things about my relationships in perspective I think changing my mindset of self sabotage and criticizing my body to realising how hard it is working for me every day, has made me love it and myself more. I have learnt to manage my condition so much better and am more determined to continue making my lifestyle better too. Every call has been eye opening and I have had new things to learn with every discussion. Thank you for being an excellent coach. I will cherish the friendship we have made in the last few months forever!

  • Boosting Prachi's relationship with herself via food

I feel like overall there is less mental chatter and I think I trust myself more now with what to choose not only in terms of food, but also in terms of which social settings to choose, which to not. Earlier I was very under control of my tongue and not my gut. I don't crave to eat pizzas and pastas like I used to EVERYDAY. You were very right about having faith in ourselves first and then anyone else. I know which people to surround myself with also more. Letting go of unwanted relationships is making me feel lighter. The self-cleansing rituals after patient appointments have been tremendously helpful as well. I’m also happy to report that my period cramps have been negligible this month, which I think is a lot to do with this program and overall being mindful of the phases of my cycle

  • Proof that a Happy Gut means Happy you!

My belching and burping issues have drastically reduced, and I don’t need the laxatives that had been prescribed by my gastro anymore. I can’t believe I was on it for 5 years! If I had known I could cure my issues with just lifestyle and diet changes, I would have done it sooner. Overall, my energy levels are way better than they used to be. The correct supplements with the correct timings have been game changers. My wife and I are both starting the day on a positive note and are seeing that our approach to the day is also more positive, everyday
